Workforce Development

At In Her Presence workforce readiness is developed through direct, one-on-one support around a specific need, otherwise known as case management. These short-term “cases” focus on helping participants overcome barriers or reach a defined goal. Sometimes we provide simple, hands-on assistance; other times we connect participants to outside partners who can provide more complex support.

Our case management work generally falls into three main areas:

Workforce Readiness

Support with job applications, resume building, and preparing to secure employment.

Post-Hire Support

Guidance after employment begins to help participants adjust, problem-solve, and succeed in the workplace.

Essential Assistance

Support with an urgent need for stability such as housing or food security, legal challenges, or other direct barriers to success.

Coaching

The Coaching Program at In Her Presence pairs participants with volunteer coaches for a relationship-based form of support. Coaching centers on participant-defined goals that may require ongoing encouragement, accountability, or even practical help such as accompanying someone to appointments or researching opportunities together. Coaches can guide on specific tasks on a short-term basis, or they can participate in longer term commitments. 

 

Coaches are not staff or case managers. They are volunteers who commit to walking alongside participants on bigger goals or projects, like applying to college, preparing for a driver’s license, or pursuing a new career path. Coaching emphasizes growth over time and provides space for participants to take the lead while having consistent support throughout their integration journey.
